Easter Island is a polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern most point of the Polynesian Triangle. Easter Island is famous for its 1.000 monumental statues, called moai.

   Easter Island is one of the world's most isolated inhabited islands.Easter Island lies 3,500 km west of continental Chile at its nearest point.The island is approximately 23 km long, its overall shape has been described as a triangle. It has an area of 160 km², and a maximum altitude of 510 meters. Population is 4.500.There are three crater lakes: Rano Kau, Rano Raraku and Rano Aroi, but no permanent streams or rivers.
